Nineteen year old Porfilio Rodriguez also known as Vanessa Champagne is home tonight with relatives after spending the Christmas behind bars. Champagne spent plenty time last year before the courts but tonight he is out on bail on his latest charge of Burglary. His application was heard in the Supreme Court before Justice Troadio Gonzalez, there was no objection, so he was granted bail in the sum of ten thousand dollars which he met by noon today. But there are conditions and Champagne has to surrender all traveling documents including his passport to the Independence Police Station. He is also to report to the Independence Police Station every Friday beginning on January sixteenth and is to appear in the Independence Magistrate’s Court on his next court date. He is also not to interfere with the prosecution witnesses or with the virtual complainant or any of her family members or friends. On September fifteenth, 2014, Champagne was accused of entering the home of Lorraine Duncan of Independence Village and stealing make up and jewelry valued in excess of two thousand dollars. Prior to picking up this new charge, he was out on bail for an alleged Aggravated Assault with a Knife upon Golda Orosco stemming from an incident in April of 2014 in which the sister of UNIBAM President, Caleb Orosco accused him of attacking her while at her Zericote Street home. When Rodriguez was arraigned for the offense and granted bail, he was ordered to move out of that house and this is when he relocated to Independence.
